Shravan Month was Symbolism of Devotion and enthusiasm

Devotees of Lord Shiva are all high as the ‘Shravan Month’ has begun from today.Shiva-bhaktas can be seen queuing up at the numerous temples across the country to offer jalabhisekh to Shivalingam.

Shravan month is an auspicious month for Hindus. Each and every day of Sawan month has its own significance for devotee of Lord Shiva. People follow various rituals to please Lord Shiva.

In one such practice, more than 1000 devotees come from corners of India for Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva in Baidyanath Dham (Deoghar).The people come on foot carrying holy water of Ganga River from Sultanganj during whole month of Sawan. The total distance from Sultanganj to Baidynath Dham is 105 km.Some devotees run nonstop to Deoghar from Sultanganj and they reach Baidyanath Dham in less than 24 hrs. It is one of the largest fairs in the world which goes on for a month.
